Job Title: Associate Attorney Company: Aspen Legal Services Location: Sandy, UT (This is a Hybrid Position) Wage: $85,000-$130,000 (1560 Billable Hours per year)

Job Summary: Aspen Legal Services is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly, proficiency in drafting legal documents, and familiarity with Litigation. We have an office in Sandy UT, but after a probationary period, remote work is an option. Aspen Legal Services requires only 1,560 billable hours per year (approximately 6 hours daily), with a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $130,000.

Duties:

  • Serve as the primary attorney for family law cases.

  • Assist with civil litigation matters.

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research.

  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Review and summarize case files and legal documents to identify key issues.

  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information for ongoing cases.

  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • 1-10 years of legal experience.

  • Must be licensed to practice in the state of Utah.

  • Litigation experience is preferred.

  • Spanish proficiency is preferred.

Job Title: Paralegal Company: Aspen Legal Services Location: Sandy, UT (This is a Hybrid Position) Wage: $25 per hour (Full-Time)

Job Summary: Aspen Legal Services is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal documents and the court filing system. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our attorneys by conducting legal research, preparing documents, and managing case files. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with clients and staff are essential.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research to support case development.

  • Draft, proofread, and review legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.

  • Collaborate with attorneys on various legal matters, providing necessary support throughout the litigation process.

  • Assist in the preparation of case files for court proceedings and motion filings.

  • Manage case documentation, including data entry, document review, and filing.

  • Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case status.

  • Conduct client intake interviews.

  • Organize and maintain electronic files for easy access by attorneys.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Health Law, Business Law, Litigation, Contracts, Family Law, or related fields is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in e-filing court documents.

  • Proficiency in using legal research tools is an asset.

  • Strong proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality documentation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective client interaction.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • A degree or certification in Paralegal studies or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
